Dealing With Our Own, Others, and Global Grief

It seems like everywhere these days that we are confronted with things we don’t understand, new challenges, different expectations… and I’ve been noticing I’m experiencing grief — grief for myself, others, and even globally. Pain everywhere, and that’s unknown territory for most of us.
Today, grief expert Yvonne Heath shares how to ‘just show up’ and find more heart, happiness, and humor because life is already serious enough. She also shares:

• How to acknowledge and allow yours and others feelings, thoughts and emotions,
• Ways to support yourself and others by just showing up,
• How to be okay with someone going through grief including yourself
• How to develop random acts of kindness to change pain and other challenges into joy plus so much more.

More about our guest: Yvonne Heath is married to her best friend Geordie, and has three amazing children. She has been a registered nurse since 1988, working in ten different hospitals in the US and Canada in many areas, including emergency, intensive care, chemotherapy, and hospice.

Yvonne became disheartened by society’s reluctance to talk about, plan, and prepare for grief and how it causes excessive suffering in life and at the end of life. She suffered too, not knowing how to do it differently. In 2015, she left her nursing career to share her message as an inspirational speaker and share her wisdom via her book ‘Love Your Life to Death,’ She is a TV and Radio host and through social media. She has been featured in several publications, podcasts, and other media.

Her TEDx Talk—Transforming Grief, by Just Showing Up—has received high praise and is now passionate about her ‘I Just Showed Up’ movement. About Your Host, Sharon Sayler

Your host, Sharon Sayler is a certified executive and wellness coach, communications trainer, public speaker, best selling author, and the founder of Competitive Edge Communications who specializes in teaching professionals critical nonverbal and body language skills including how to have those critical “tough” conversations. She teaches how to up-your-impact on the stage, in the boardroom, with clients, customers, team members and even how to deal with difficult people.

Now, she's taken those skills, her passion for clear and competent communication, her own experience dealing with a rare medical condition and her frustration with the medical community in understanding what it is like to have a chronic and complicated medical condition to teach others to become courageous self-advocates so they too can turn life transitions into triumphs. One way she spreads the word is through the podcast and videocast called The Autoimmune Show: Inspiring hope and help for those with autoimmune.
